2 Glass Furniture Items Parents Should Buy if They're Homeschooling Their Kids
If a parent decides to homeschool their children, there are a couple of glass items that could make this new undertaking much easier. Here are two such items.
1. A magnetic glass whiteboard
A whiteboard is an essential item for any parent who is about to embark upon their homeschooling journey. This item will allow them to write up explanations of various concepts and facts, in the form of images and text, and keep them in a place that the children can easily refer to throughout their lessons. It also saves paper, as the parent won't have to constantly scribble things down in notepads. A magnetic glass whiteboard may be something that budget-conscious parents might find helpful.
The whiteboard should be both magnetic and made out of glass. Magnetic whiteboards can make homeschooling lessons more enjoyable and engaging for the children. Parents can, for example, purchase colourful educational magnets (such as ones that come in the shape of numbers and letters, or ones which depict the elements of the periodic table) and integrate them into their lesson plans, to make the lessons more interactive, colourful and fun. The children can play with the magnets and move them around the whiteboard to make sentences or to write up and solve mathematical or chemical equations.
If the homeschooling process will take place in an area of the home that is used regularly for other purposes (for example, if the lessons will take place in the kitchen or the dining room), parents should opt for a glass whiteboard because its transparency will make it much less aesthetically-obtrusive.
2. A large glass-top table
Children who are going to be homeschooled will need a large table to lean on whilst doing any written or artistic work. If they are young and prone to making messes, or if the artwork they will be making will involve the use of markers or paint, it would be best for their parents to invest in a large glass-top table, rather than a big wooden one. The reason for this is that children will inevitably end up staining the tabletop with their pens, paint and markers.
Whilst these substances could permanently stain a wooden surface (or might only be removable by sanding the table and recoating it with fresh varnish), they can be wiped off a glass surface fairly easily, using water, isopropyl alcohol or other household cleaning fluids. As such, by opting for a glass-top table, parents who teach their children at home won't have to endure working at a dilapidated-looking, stained table every day.
